A fond farewell to April Captain Carlos Matos Gomes

We can't help but pay a tribute to the Captain of April, Colonel Carlos Matos Gomes, who passed away this Sunday, the 13th, at the age of 78. Matos Gomes was born on 24 July 1946 in Vila Nova da Barquinha. He was an army officer who served in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.
Under the literary pseudonym Carlos Vale Ferraz, he published several reference works, including the essay "Colonial War" with his comrade-in-arms Aniceto Gomes. CD25A has several of his works available in its library, as well as a thematic project on the Colonial War, drawn up by students from the UC Faculty of Letters, using texts by Carlos Matos Gomes and Aniceto Afonso, courtesy of the authors.
