In the year commemorating the 51st anniversary of 25 April 1974, but also the 50th anniversary of the elections to the Constituent Assembly, we have put together a selection of photographic documents, still little publicised, belonging to photographic archives available for consultation at CD25A-UC, which illustrate unique moments, frozen in time, lived by those who were able to witness what was once just a dream.

In the context of the intrinsic link between archives and memory, which is fundamental to understanding society and history, we are launching a challenge for collective reflection on the importance of archives for society, recognising their place as a pillar of society's historical consciousness, closely linked to the dynamics of its transformation and not just the preservation of its memory. Giving the deserved importance to the institutions/entities that take on this responsibility of safeguarding, preserving, processing and making archives available, especially private archives, means making a committed contribution to this understanding and transformation.
