Under the motto — adapted from the commemorative silkscreen print for 25 April 1974, series #1 of 2026, by Francisco Elias — “One Carnation at a Time | 25 April Forever”, CD25A-UC kicks off the celebrations marking the 52nd anniversary of the April Revolution and the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Portuguese Constitution.
The initiative promotes the sharing of scientific and cultural content, with the aim of enhancing and broadening access to its documentary and photographic collections.
This April, we reflect on two essential dimensions of the freedom we have won: freedom on the streets and freedom under the law.
The latter takes the form of a virtual exhibition dedicated to the constitutional process and the adoption of the 1976 Constitution, highlighting key moments, debates and key figures, based on the Centre’s archival documents and historical context, aimed at researchers, students and the general public.
