‘Casa Adentro’ at Colégio da Graça | guided tours | 9 May 2026

The CD25A-UC and CES, installed on the north side of the Colégio da Graça since 2016—the first college (of the Order of the Clad Hermits of St Augustine) to be built on Rua da Sofia and to be reoccupied following the University of Coimbra’s return to its historic 16th-century premises—will be part of, on 9 May, the 4th edition of the CASA ADENTRO programme, an initiative established as a cultural landmark of the region, promoted by the Central Regional Section of the Order of Architects, the Department of Architecture at the University of Coimbra, and the Penedo da Saudade Cultural Centre.

Proposing a “profound and urgent reflection under the motto ‘City: A Shared Future’”, it presents itself as an open invitation to citizens to (re)discover the architectural heritage of the city of Coimbra through guided tours of these spaces.

Among the six sessions comprising access to this historic building, originally designed by Diogo de Castilho (built between 1543 and 1555) and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2023, we highlight the 10 am tour, led by architect César Cerqueira, who oversaw the building’s restoration work by architect João Paulo Santos, as well as the poetry session by Bonifrates – Cooperative for Theatre Productions and Cultural Events, which will begin at 3 pm.
