It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Manuel de Freitas Figueiredo, a dear friend and generous donor to CD25A-UC.
Manuel Freitas Figueiredo’s involvement with the Centre began in 1995, marking the start of a long journey of dedication and voluntary service. Over the years, he played a key role in digitising sound archives on various media, including audio and video cassettes, television and radio recordings, reel-to-reel tapes and vinyl records, making a decisive contribution to the preservation of this important heritage.
In 2004, she also volunteered on the production of the CD-ROM *Pulsar da Revolução*, published by the Centre, helping with the transcription of music and the selection of musical and audio excerpts. From 2005 onwards, she continued her contribution by enriching the video archive, devoting herself to digitising content for DVD.
His commitment, generosity and sense of mission have left a lasting mark on the work of CD25A-UC and on the preservation of historical memory that the Centre promotes.
To his family, friends and all those who knew him, we offer our deepest condolences.
